Novagraaf expands presence in Belgium with new office in Ghent

Leading IP specialist Novagraaf announced today the opening of a new office in Ghent, strengthening the firm’s already long-standing presence in Belgium, and providing greater proximity to its growing client base.

Founded in 1888, Novagraaf is one of the world’s largest trademark filers and a major patent filer, managing more than one million intellectual property (IP) assets on behalf of customers, and representing many of the world’s major patent and trademark owners. The firm has offices throughout Europe, including Brussels, London, Paris, Geneva and Amsterdam, as well as in the US, China and Japan.

Novagraaf’s expansion in Belgium is part of the firm’s wider growth strategy, and reflects its focus on serving clients through dedicated regional offices. The Flanders region of Belgium is renowned as a hub for both innovative start-ups and multinational businesses, and was identified by Novagraaf as having a specific need for local and tailored IP advice and support. By opening its Ghent office, Novagraaf Belgium will be able to further foster close working relationships with businesses in the region, providing them with better access to the strategic IP advice that they need if they are to fully capture and exploit their IP assets.

Commenting on the opening of the new office, Novagraaf Belgium’s Managing Director Ingrid Mennens said: “Our focus on providing exceptional global IP capabilities delivered to clients locally is essential to building meaningful relationships. We are proud to be the trusted partner of so many leading Belgian companies who have successfully expanded their businesses and innovation beyond Belgian borders, and we look forward to supporting others in the region to do the same”.

The new office is conveniently located at the intersection of two main highways (E40 and E17), providing businesses in the area with ease of access to Novagraaf’s dedicated and experienced IP professionals. The location also offers Novagraaf’s own employees the opportunity to benefit from a more manageable commute and improved work-life balance. The firm has already hired a new attorney and paralegal for the Ghent office, and plans to continue to expand its team of IP specialists in the region.
