Dr Oliver Harris is Managing Director, Patents at Novagraaf UK. He is a European Patent Attorney and a UK Chartered Patent Attorney with more than 10 years’ experience in patent law and practice. Oliver focuses predominantly on drafting, filing and prosecuting patent applications worldwide, as well as advising on infringement and validity. He also provides clients with advice on IP strategy, portfolio management and due diligence assistance. Oliver specialises in the Life Sciences, particularly biotechnology (including molecular biology, genetics, microbiology, agricultural biotechnology, and immunology), pharmaceuticals (including formulations and delivery systems), medical devices (particularly infusion pumps) and food technology. Oliver leads the Novagraaf Patent Business in the UK, working from the Norwich and London offices.
Career history
Oliver obtained a Masters degree in Biochemistry from the University of Oxford and a PhD in Cell Biology at UCL/Cancer Research UK under the supervision of Nobel Laureate, Sir Paul Nurse. Prior to joining Novagraaf, Oliver held attorney positions in two other leading private practices.

Oliver has worked for clients ranging from individual inventors through to multinational pharmaceutical companies, including universities, spin-outs, start-ups and public sector research and healthcare institutions.
