Robert Balsters is a European Patent Attorney, as well as a Swiss Patent Attorney and a French Patent Attorney. Robert handles patent prosecution for both national and international clients, mainly in the field of electronics, and particularly in relation to optical disks, image processing, semiconductors, plasma display panels, antennas and conditional access systems. He also handles patent applications in the mechanical field, including for watch-making and droplet spray devices. Furthermore, he is part of Novagraaf’s Business Development, Patents taskforce and acts as Team Leader of Electronics.
Achtergrond
Robert obtained his Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Technology, Delft, the Netherlands in 1988. He passed the CEIPI (Centre d'Études Internationales de la Propriété Intellectuelle) postgraduate examination in 1994 and qualified as a European Patent Attorney in 1996. Robert is also a Swiss Patent Attorney and a French Patent Attorney. Moreover, he is authorised to act before the German Patent Office.
Robert has been working in the field of patents for more than 25 years and started working in patents as a substantive examiner at the European Patent Office in Munich. After that, he joined the Swatch Group working as a Patent Engineer, and in 1999, subsequently joined Novagraaf as a Senior Patent Attorney.
Werkterrein
Robert regularly travels to Japan to visit clients and provide lectures on European Patent practice.
